About The RoleChemonics is seeking a Senior Practice Associate to support the Human Development technical practice. This role provides advanced support with practice administration and coordination. This is an exciting opportunity to apply existing programme management and administration experience to support technical practices across their core functions of programme portfolio management; growth; and thought leadership.The Senior Practice Associate will undertake tasks across communications and events planning; coordinate country growth strategies and participate in capture and proposal efforts; financial management; consultant management; and reporting; and will work closely with Programme Management Units on a day-to-day basis.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial ManagementTracks practice event, bid and other relevant budgets, including approvals for staffing, financial reporting and tracking, may liaise with corporate office and project staff and partners staff to obtain information and submit approvals.Provides approval of local expenses and supporting documentation;Participates in corporate budgeting process as requested.HR and RecruitmentLeads recruitment efforts for programme employees/consultants under Programme Manager supervision, including: reviewing and posting advertisements and scopes of work, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, ensuring due diligence, and providing finalist feedback.Reviews draft employment/hiring agreements and provides inputs on compensation negotiations.Provides travel support for employees/consultants by approving travel arrangements and reviewing and approving expense reports.Provides review and approval for consultant time and invoices, when appropriate.Manages fielding and repatriation of employees and consultants including but not limited to submitting separation paperwork, updating allowances, coordinating travel and household effects repatriation.Supports programme staff new to Chemonics by delivering introductions to Chemonics’ systems, policies, and processes.Consultant and Procurement ManagementManages practice procurements for technical services, technical consultants, communications events and services including overseeing and/or coordinating solicitation, evaluation, selection, and award stages.Drafts contracts, and modifications using internal templates; liaises on contractual issues; liaises closely with UK Contracts team on template deviations.Provides review and approval of expenses and invoice packages.Coordinates with consultants and service delivery providers for regular budget and reforecast updates.Practice AdministrationManages Practice monthly and other meetings; produces slide decks for meeting presentations.Manages Teams channels and files; coordinates Practice-wide attendance at external events; proactively shares industry information with the Practice.Produces communications materials such as blog posts, social media content, liaising with Communications Team.Coordinates technical Communities of Practice ensuring smooth collaboration and management of deadlines.Responds to questions and requests for practice information from corporate and project offices and to support new business.Person SpecificationEssential SkillsExperience in relevant administrative or professional work environment, including basic understanding of contractual, procurement, financial management, or related experience.Experience and/or relevant academic or training background in practice technical area including but not limited to international affairs, international development, humanitarian, education, GEDSI, governance.Understanding of primary donor client requirements and methods of business preferred.Experience with data entry, filing, cataloguing, retrieving, and preserving records preferred.Communicates clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications; strong cross-culture communication and sensitivity skills.Experience producing communications materials and managing events preferred.Experience multitasking with attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.Why Join Chemonics UK?
