Senior IT Audit Manager, Enterprise Technology, Data, ETIV – Global Internal Audit - Birmingham

Overview

Senior IT Audit Manager with HSBC Global Internal Audit to support the Head of Audit, Enterprise Technology, Data and ETIV in delivering audits of IT infrastructure, systems and projects across technology coverage.

In This Role, You Will

  • Primarily lead the Technology coverage on integrated audits across Enterprise Technology, focusing on design and operating effectiveness of business automated controls (BACs) and IT General Controls (ITGCs) supporting key business processes.
  • Work on technical infrastructure, data and ETIV audits, covering the Group’s most significant projects and systems (including data, artificial intelligence, digital assets / currencies).
  • Apply risk-based auditing techniques to plan and execute complex audit assignments, identify root causes, and produce high quality audit reports with pragmatic recommendations.
  • Manage the audit portfolio through efficient resource allocation and ensure audits are completed promptly while maintaining flexibility in the schedule.
  • Contribute to Global Internal Audit through collaboration with other teams and exploring how data analytics, agile techniques and other innovations can improve delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance stakeholder relationships through regular meetings, challenging risk governance forums, and staying connected with business, regulatory and industry developments; assist in leadership of the team and foster an open, collaborative culture.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Extensive experience in technology audit, enterprise risk management, chief controls office, compliance, or related fields.
  • Solid understanding of technology risks and controls and business automated controls.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinker able to approach unfamiliar areas thoroughly and quickly identify key features.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects.
  • Team player with a desire to help the team achieve objectives.

Location & Working Pattern

The base location for this role is Birmingham with a hybrid working pattern.
