Senior Bridge Engineer

£340.95 per day PAYE

Contract Length: 12 Months likely to extend

Location: Glasgow – 2 days per week / site visits

37 hours per week

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer to lead the delivery and oversight of multiple complex infrastructure projects and asset management programmes. This role involves managing high-profile structural assets, ensuring the delivery of routine, cyclical, and planned maintenance activities alongside critical safety inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage concurrent asset management programmes, including inspections and maintenance.
2. Oversee specialised improvement works focusing on structural safety risks.
3. Act as the Technical Approval Authority under the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
4. Provide technical guidance and contribute to developing engineering standards and specifications.

Essential Criteria:

1. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with Chartered Membership (MICE or MIStructE) and registration with the Engineering Council.
2. Proven experience in designing or assessing transport-related or large-scale structural infrastructure.
3. Project and contract management experience, including financial control and technical oversight.

Desirable:

• Experience with large-span steel structures, including cable-supported systems.
