Overview

Senior Business Central Consultant — Location: Northampton (Hybrid - with ad-hoc client site visits). Full-time. Are you an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant looking for your next challenge? Do you enjoy working closely with clients to design and deliver solutions that make a real impact? If so, this could be the opportunity for you. You will join a well-established Microsoft partner, working across diverse projects from SMEs to large enterprises. This role blends technical expertise with client-facing consulting within a supportive and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with new and existing clients to analyse business processes and gather requirements
  • Evaluate requests for feasibility, including cost/benefit analysis
  • Develop a deep understanding of Business Central data structures and process flows
  • Produce functional proposals and documentation for client review
  • Create technical documentation to guide developers and technical teams
  • Design and manage test plans, coordinating execution with colleagues and clients
  • Oversee the deployment of new developments and ensure smooth adoption
  • Provide post-implementation support, including end-user training and issue resolution

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in IT, Accounting, or related discipline, with relevant product certifications OR a minimum of 7 years' experience in a consulting role within the industry, including at least 3 years with the same organisation
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (administration, upgrades, migrations, and customisations)
  • Strong expertise in financial management, accounting, and/or supply chain management
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Experience with Power BI, Jet Reports, or other BI tools (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft Dynamics products (NAV, GP, SL, CRM) is a plus
  • Project management experience is desirable
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a continuous learning mindset
  • Full UK driving licence (required for client visits)
