Date: 13 Sept 2025Location: London, GBCompany: Royal London GroupJob Title: Senior Business ConsultantContract Type: PermanentLocation: LondonWorking style: Hybrid 50% home/office basedSenior Business ConsultantWe currently have an opportunity for a Senior Business Consultant to join the RLAM Business Consultancy team on a permanent basis in London.The Senior Business Consultant role at RLAM is responsible for taking high-level strategic ideas or concepts and using applied techniques and expert level insights to develop them further into fully formed and implementable strategies.This would include matters such as:Negotiating with senior leaders/executives to agree a firm position on a given business development topic.Use applied techniques to lead assessments of viability/feasibility of any given concept, including costs/benefits/impactsLeading the organisation through complex strategic decisions on future operating model considerations, influencing timelines and expectations based on experienceLeveraging experience to judge required resources to execute plans.Using expert insights and market intelligence to assist RLAM navigate through challenges.About the roleStrategic Alignment and ShapingUnderstand the strategic direction of the organisation and bring expert industry expertise and experience to further shape and detail the approach to strategic plans.Use applied techniques to lead assessments of viability/feasibility of any given concept, including costs/benefits/impactsLead the organisation through complex strategic decisions on future operating model considerationsIdentify thematic operating model challenges that may impede RLAMs progress vs plan and seek to influence senior leaders to address issues holistically.PlanningDevelop high level plans and approaches, built from base concepts, providing information to enable future project portfolios to be created and planned for.Use expert insights and market intelligence to assist RLAM navigate through challenges.Leverage experience to judge required resources to execute plans.Influence the Enterprise Projects plan and budget elements during the production of the RLAM Business Plan, based on agreed plans/approaches.AnalysisProvide a ‘toolkit’ of techniques and materials that facilitate exploring ideas/conceptsUse advanced analysis and business architecture techniques to provide different lenses on any given topic (e.g. costs/impacts/maturity/risks etc)Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with senior executives, Programme directors, risk teams, and external partners to support and influence the transformational agendaInfluences and negotiates with stakeholders and sponsors to encourage them to participate, take ownership of deliverables and provide input as required.Lead senior leaders through complex strategic decisions using structured techniques and strong influencing skills.About youA proven leader with a demonstrable track record of shaping complex change initiatives.Demonstrable experience relevant to leading on complex transformational change activity.Proven accountability for influencing/shaping strategic initiativesProven advanced stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organisation including board level.A track record of establishing deliverables from the bottom up based solely on strategic objectivesDemonstrable use of tools/techniques that can lead a senior audience through a complex business problemExpert knowledge of wider asset management industry and trendsStrong facilitation skills and a proven ability to influence to ensure decisions are made in a timely and objective manner, reaching consensus decisions on strategic items.About Royal London Asset ManagementRoyal London Asset Management (RLAM), part of the Royal London Group, is one of the UK's leading fund management companies working with a wide range of clients across the globe to achieve their investment goals.
