The Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Business Data Analyst to join our IT & Analytics team. This is a high-profile role where you’ll make a meaningful impact on the growth and efficiency of the UK Colleges Division.

You’ll work at the intersection of business, technology, and data, delivering end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions that empower decision-makers. From designing insightful dashboards to developing ETL processes, your work will directly shape business strategy and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs in Power BI.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth.
  • Build and optimise ETL processes to integrate structured and unstructured data.
  • Ensure data accuracy, usability, and high system performance.
  • Present complex insights in a clear and compelling way to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About You

You are a problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You bring technical expertise alongside strong communication skills, ensuring that complex data is translated into meaningful insights.

Essential skills & experience

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst using the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI).
  • Strong skills in SQL, DAX, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Proven ability to deliver actionable insights from complex data sets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
