Role: Senior Calypso Developer – Derivatives

Location: Sheffield, UK (3 days/Week Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months+

Rate: 550GBP/Day Inside IR35

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Calypso Developer (8+ years) to join our team and support the strategic rollout of Calypso as a core platform for Derivatives. The role is critical in delivering solutions to operational users and clients within a follow-the-sun support model.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and roll-out of new product types within Calypso.
• Drive systems integration and client onboarding activities.
• Assist with testing and quality assurance, both internally and with clients.
• Design and deliver solutions tailored to Derivatives, Pricing, and Collateral operations.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and add real business value.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet project objectives.

Key Skills / Experience

• Strong experience with Calypso platform (8+ years)
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and Linux.
• Hands-on experience with Java Spring framework and database management systems.
• Knowledge of automated testing tools and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Ansible).
• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture and DevSecOps practices.
• Familiarity with Derivatives, Pricing, and Collateral Management.
• Strong communication and organisational skills to interact with business and technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in banking/financial services environments.
• Prior exposure to client onboarding and global support models.
