Senior Category Sourcing & Optimisation Manager – Holland & Barrett is growing fast and investing in people, stores, digital platforms, and innovative products. The business operates internationally with a focus on delivering better health and wellbeing services to customers. This role is based in Nuneaton, with hybrid working arrangements requiring a minimum of 2 days in the office, and occasional travel to other locations.

Purpose of Role: As our Senior Commercial Optimisation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a key pillar of our transformation strategy: reducing the cost of doing business. You will unlock incremental commercial value through smarter supplier terms, strategic negotiation, and a refreshed approach to supplier partnerships. This is a role designed to build processes and capabilities from the ground up, with the ambition to scale internationally as the model proves successful.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead Supplier Value Chain Negotiations – Apply value chain analysis to uncover opportunities across the supplier lifecycle and translate insight into negotiation strategies that deliver sustainable commercial value.
  • Coach Commercial Teams – Embed negotiation capability, data storytelling, and value chain thinking with Category Managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Refresh Commercial Terms – Help define supplier terms and the commercial frameworks underpinning partnerships, as the supplier terms are refreshed for the first time in five years.
  • Drive Strategic Alignment – Influence senior stakeholders across Buying, Finance, Supply Chain, and Digital to align around shared value opportunities and execute commercial strategies aligned to the three-year plan.
  • Build Capability & Culture – Build a culture of confident negotiation, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement to support a more agile, data-driven organisation.

This role requires experience in buying, category management, or procurement, with strong supplier negotiation capabilities and an ability to work with data and financials, storytelling, and cross-functional priority management.

What Skill You'll Need To Succeed

  • Strong background in category management, buying, or procurement (essential)
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations and understanding of commercial trading terms
  • Confident working with data and financials, including P&L (desirable)
  • Skilled in influencing stakeholders, using storytelling and data to drive decisions
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working cross-functionally
  • Experience in shaping value chains and delivering commercial outcomes
