Engineer – House Building

Blue Diamond Recruitment is excited to work in partnership with a leading 5‑star house builder in the East Midlands, who are recruiting for an Engineer to join their growing technical team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional with previous experience in house building or consultancy to join a reputable developer with a strong pipeline of future work.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinating engineering information between external consultants and internal departments
• Checking engineering drawings and details for accuracy and commercial suitability
• Securing technical approvals for S38 and S104 agreements
• Liaising with consultants to ensure deadlines are achieved
• Applying for and securing statutory body approvals for engineering and remediation
• Attending design meetings with highways and drainage authorities
• Providing ongoing engineering and technical support to site teams
• Supporting the resolution of on‑site technical issues as they arise

Required experience

• Previous experience in a volume house building or consultancy environment
• Experience with AutoCAD and relevant technical processes
• Experience carrying out duties aligned with an engineering role in residential development

Qualifications & skills

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
• CSCS card (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Able to explain technical information clearly and concisely
• Confident problem solver with excellent attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems
• A team player who thrives in a fast‑paced environment

Working conditions

This is a hybrid role with regular office‑based work and travel to development sites across the East Midlands. Flexibility around duties and hours is expected, in line with project and business requirements.
