AXA XL is hiring a Senior Claims Adjuster - Casualty to join the London Wholesale Casualty Claims team. This is a permanent role with hybrid working from our London office, subject to business requirements.
What you’ll be doing
- Embrace and deliver on AXA XL’s strategic drivers from 2024, including tailored client solutions, value beyond the policy, data-driven decision support for clients, and streamlined processes to improve value.
- Manage a portfolio of mid to high value claims across jurisdictions (Canada, Australia, Italy, UK & Ireland, US). Proactively manage cases and engage with stakeholders including London Market Brokers, Placing Brokers, follow markets and co-insurance markets.
- Attend ADR settlement forums (virtual or in person) as part of proactive case management and cost containment.
- Analyse policy covers across the LW Casualty book to ensure correct application and inform underwriters of necessary changes.
- Report to Senior Internal Management on high value, catastrophic and contentious claims/events.
- Maintain timely and accurate reserves for cases and blocks to meet company standards and market expectations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Underwriters, Actuaries, Senior Management, and internal/external stakeholders, and the wider claims teams in London and Ipswich.
- Act as a reference point to Claims Adjusters within the London and Ipswich teams for support and progression.
- Oversee Third Party Administrators and Cover Holder partners across territories, including portfolio analysis, audits, and claims governance.
- Manage litigation spend with regular engagement with TPAs, budgeting and reserving for defence or coverage fees.
- Monitor and adjust DA funds for high-volume accounts.
- Collaborate with Offshore/Shared Services to ensure delivery of agreed service and identify opportunities to enhance support.
- Provide periodic status updates to Underwriters and Actuaries on portfolio trends, performance, and material claim developments.
- Attend new business meetings and presentations to convey the claims philosophy; prepare and present large claim activity to Management/Leadership.
- Manage static and inactive claims across the wider team as required and engage in cross-functional project groups to drive business improvement or product enhancement.
- Continuously seek ways to improve service delivery and lead by example.
You will report to the Casualty Claims Manager - London Wholesale.

- Educated to A Level standard minimum, or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ECF2, the Lloyd’s market, International Casualty claims, including TPA work, Vendor Management and other GL lines.
