Overview

Senior Claims Specialist, Crisis Management at MS Amlin. This is a newly created position within MS Amlin’s Crisis Management team, offering the opportunity to contribute to the team’s development while being supported by an established insurer.

You will work with a collaborative and experienced team, providing a platform for professional growth and development. The Crisis Management portfolio covers Marine and Aviation War, Political Violence, Political Risks, Trade Credit, Contract Frustration, Terrorism, and Product Recall. The role provides genuine international exposure, close broker and client interaction, and opportunities for travel.

What you’ll spend your time doing

  • Handle claims arising from the responsible line of business (and arising from other classes as appropriate per business requirements), from FNOL to settlement, with consideration of subrogation/contribution where appropriate, to ensure delivery of a superior claims service and proactive claims resolution.
  • Actively monitor claims to ensure early best estimates, settle valid claims promptly, and maintain tight cost control throughout the lifecycle.
  • Ensure all claims handling responsibilities adhere to MS Amlin procedures, controls and regulatory requirements, with performance reflected in green Claims KPIs.
  • Support the Claims Manager in delivering a first-class claims experience to clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders, in line with MS Amlin’s policies, procedures, controls, and claims philosophy.
  • Deputise for the claims manager and other senior team members as required, and provide specialist knowledge to clients and the business to inform better decisions and help prevent and mitigate losses.
  • Provide claims thought leadership and insights through analysis of claims data and input to reserving processes, to facilitate better business decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with responsible underwriters to attract and retain desired business and provide support to client partners.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with peers, brokers, and service providers in the market.
  • Contribute to achieving Claims strategic objectives and participate in business modernization to transform the current claims proposition toward the future service proposition.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, raising our profile in the market and strengthening our claims reputation.

What you’ll need

Proven experience in managing or handling Crisis Management claims globally, including strong relationships with relevant experts, brokers and co-insurers.

  • Degree/CII or similar professional qualification (desirable).
  • Firm understanding of key principles and practices of the London Market.
  • London Market Claims System & Microsoft Office knowledge (e.g. ECF, Excel).
  • Account/portfolio management experience.
  • Willingness to travel and attend client events.
