Senior Client Manager

Looking for a senior leadership role at a forward-thinking accountancy firm with international reach?

We’re working with a highly regarded and growing accountancy practice in Dudley to recruit a Senior Client Manager to join their expanding team. This is a key role in the firm, offering a clear route to Director and the opportunity to lead a varied and rewarding client portfolio while mentoring and developing junior team members.

As a Senior Client Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of clients across a range of industries, ensuring excellent service delivery while driving internal efficiencies and supporting the wider leadership team. You’ll work closely with clients on a day-to-day basis, assist with business advisory work, and manage a team of accounts professionals.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, acting as the main point of contact
• Review accounts, tax returns, and VAT returns prepared by the team
• Deliver strategic advice to clients and identify opportunities for additional support
• Manage workflow, deadlines, and client communications across your portfolio
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing training and support
• Collaborate with senior leadership on business development and process improvement
• Handle billing, WIP, and ensure profitability across engagements
• Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and internal quality controls

What We’re Looking For

• Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice
• Proven success managing a portfolio of SME clients
• Skilled at reviewing work, managing deadlines, and overseeing teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills – confident, client-focused, and proactive
• Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Commercially aware with a growth mindset and a collaborative approach
• Keen to progress to a senior leadership role in the near future
