Senior Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer – Interim

West Midlands

Location: Remote with occasional in-person meetings if preferred (not mandatory)

Contract: 3 months minimum, with scope for extension

Rate: Up to £60-65 per hour

Overview

Panoramic Associates are supporting a public sector client who are seeking a Senior Commercial Contracts / Construction Lawyer to provide interim support. This is an immediate requirement to cover a gap in their construction expertise.

Responsibilities

• Advising on and drafting large-scale construction contracts (JCT, NEC, call-off agreements).
• Support projects delivered through regional frameworks and arm’s-length organisations.
• Provide wider commercial contracts support alongside construction work.
• Assist with procurement and advise on project delivery risks.
• Client-facing responsibilities, including progress reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Essential skills

• Strong experience in construction law (JCT, NEC, call-offs).
• Solid background in commercial contracts.
• Confident communicator, able to build client relationships and provide clear reporting.
• Experience working with arm’s-length organisations.
• Local government experience, particularly governance and member engagement.
• Wider commercial experience beyond construction law.

Candidate details

Start date: ASAP (flexible for the right candidate).

Hours: Full-time.

Location: West Midlands-based client with remote work option.
