We’re expanding our legal team internationally and looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel, EMEA to serve as a strategic legal partner to our EMEA Sales and broader teams! As our first international legal hire, in this impactful and highly-visible role you’ll drive complex deal negotiations and scale and streamline our commercial legal function in EMEA, directly enabling our business teams to close deals with leading EMEA companies and organizations across all market segments, including SMBs, regulated-companies, and large enterprises.

You’ll be a key partner throughout deal cycles while also providing strategic counsel on the unique legal and regulatory considerations for Privacy and responsible AI deployment throughout the EMEA region.
About the Role
- Location: London, UK (Hybrid) – 1‑2 days per week in‑office
- Full‑time, Permanent
- Compensation dependent on geographic cost of labor and other factors; participation in company‑wide bonus program also applies.
Responsibilities
- Be a founding member of Webflow’s international legal footprint, building out our EMEA legal function and GTM legal playbook in close coordination with the global legal team.
- Serve as a key strategic advisor to sales leadership on complex commercial deals and contractual matters across SMB to large enterprise clients.
- Lead negotiations and successfully close a variety of sophisticated commercial contracts with diverse EMEA companies and organizations, including SaaS deals, channel/distribution/reseller agreements, DPAs, professional services agreements, marketing agreements, NDAs, and vendor contracts on an as‑needed basis.
- Navigate, anticipate, and proactively manage risks from applicable emerging and rapidly-evolving EMEA regulatory and jurisdiction-specific requirements (e.g., Privacy and AI technologies).
- Design and implement scalable contract frameworks, playbooks, resources, and processes to support and enable our fast-growing EMEA sales organization.
- Provide triage support to the US‑based legal team for general (non‑commercial) company requests on an as‑needed basis.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years PQE/in‑house tech experience, ideally at fast‑scaling SaaS/cloud companies.
- Admitted and in good standing as a lawyer or solicitor in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction (e.g., England & Wales, Ireland, or the Netherlands) with experience in-house and at a law firm.
- Deep experience drafting and negotiating both high‑touch and high‑volume commercial agreements in multi‑jurisdictional contexts, especially B2B/Enterprise SaaS.
- Know privacy inside‑out (GDPR, cross‑border transfers, DPAs) and are comfortable advising (and educating) business teams as they navigate these novel and evolving hurdles in commercial negotiations.
- Excel at providing practical, actionable, and risk‑balanced advice with legal discipline.
- Bold self‑starter who thrives in a high‑velocity, change‑oriented culture and enjoys building from the ground up and wearing multiple hats.
- Adept at navigating uncertainty and ambiguity; able to thrive autonomously and engage cross‑functional collaboration.
- Systems‑savvy: familiarity with CLMs (IronClad or similar), DocuSign, Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Slack.
- Curious and open to growth – actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI to unlock creativity, accelerate progress, and amplify impact.
