We are seeking a forward-thinking Manager of Certification & Compliance to spearhead a newly formed Certification Body and shape the future of compliance across the company.

This is a standout opportunity for professionals ready to raise the bar on industry compliance, certification, and quality assurance.

This role combines high-level oversight of audit and certification activities with leadership across membership compliance, policy development, and quality assurance.

You will have experience running accredited Certification Bodies or complex compliance systems, someone with vision, integrity, and the leadership to deliver impactful change.

This is a Hybrid role based in Darlington for a minimum of 2 days per week.

The role of the Senior Compliance Manager

  • Lead the development of the new Certification body
  • Shape cross-organisational compliance strategies aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001
  • Be the principal contact for UKAS, regulators, and industry groups
  • Drive audit and governance frameworks with a focus on quality and impartiality
  • Represent the company on a national stage as a senior strategic leader

Essential experience: Senior Compliance Manager

  • Strong audit, compliance and certification management capability
  • Team leadership and people development
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of ISO frameworks and UKAS accreditation processes
  • Lead auditor experience
  • Experience of managing a certification Body or quality system
  • Proactive, solutions orientated and resilient
  • Able to lead through change and manage complexity with a calm and strategic mindset
