This is the job
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager to join our Group Risk & Compliance team at The AA. This is a key role in our second line of defence, supporting assurance activities across the business. You’ll lead on compliance monitoring, ISO and insurer audits, and provide expert insight into regulatory and legislative requirements.
What will I be doing?
- Lead and deliver assurance reviews across regulatory risk areas (e.g., Conduct Risk, Customer Outcomes, Consumer Duty), ensuring timely execution and escalation of any gaps or deficiencies.
- Mentor and support team members, including Analysts and Officers, by reviewing work, providing feedback, and ensuring alignment with departmental standards.
- Produce high-quality reports and dashboards with actionable insights for governance forums, collaborating closely with the Head of Assurance.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including senior leadership, to communicate review scopes, findings, and agree on pragmatic corrective actions.
- Drive the action management programme, ensuring timely resolution, evidence gathering, and strong stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor regulatory developments through horizon scanning and trend analysis, contributing to board-level reporting and the annual assurance plan.
- Strong background in general insurance regulation and compliance, with a deep understanding of FCA expectations and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to mentor and manage team members while effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Skilled in analysing complex regulatory requirements and providing clear, practical advice.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate compliance obligations into actionable insights.
- Commercially aware, with knowledge of insurance product distribution through contact centres and associated customer risks.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits
We’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do. As a valued member of The AA team, you’ll have access to a range of benefits including:
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays + holiday buying scheme
- Worksave pension scheme with up to 7% employer contribution
- Free AA breakdown membership from Day 1 plus 50% discount for family and friends
- Discounts on AA products including car and home insurance
- Employee discount scheme that gives you access to a car salary sacrifice scheme plus great discounts on healthcare, shopping, holidays and more
- Company funded life assurance
- Diverse learning and development opportunities to support you to progress in your career
- Dedicated Employee Assistance Programme and a 24/7 remote GP service for you and your family
We’re an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from everyone. The AA values diversity and the difference this brings to our culture and our customers. We actively seek people from diverse backgrounds to join us and become part of an inclusive company where you can be yourself, be empowered to be your best and feel like you truly belong.
