Every day, we enable our customers to solve the most complex and dynamic challenges to help achieve a safe and sustainable world.The RoleYou will contribute to the delivery of consultancy projects that have a focus on climate adaptation and resilience. This will include supporting local, regional and national governments with their climate adaptation planning processes. You will also support business development activities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and deliver adaptation projects for local, regional and national governments, which may include the following:Climate data gathering and processing: climate projections, databases and climate indicesAssessing climate vulnerabilities and risksDelivering spatial climate risk assessments.Identifying and prioritising effective adaptation optionsAssessing adaptation-mitigation co-benefitsMainstreaming adaptation into sectoral policies, strategies and fundsDeveloping costed implementation plans for adaptation actions, and associated finance strategiesDeveloping monitoring and evaluation frameworks (including indicators) for adaptation policies, plans, and programmes.Preparing concept note and/or funding proposals to the Green Climate Fund, the Adaptation Fund and related facilities.Manage and contribute to business development activities, including the preparation of proposals.Participate in capacity building activities including workshop facilitation and delivery.Key Competencies and Experience: Higher degree in a numerate/scientific subject, or equivalent academic experienceUnderstanding of adaptation planning processes, and experience in adaptation planning at city, sub-national and/or national level.Experience (more than 5 years) of undertaking at least three of the types of adaptation-related activities listed above.Experience (more than 5 years) of working in a consultancy environmentExperience of facilitating virtual and face-to-face stakeholder consultations, workshops, and capacity-building eventsStrong literacy in MS Excel, Word and PowerPointDesirable Competencies and ExperienceKnowledge of international climate change policy (e.g. UNFCCC) regarding adaptationApplication of GIS and geoprocessing techniquesExperience of working in different cultural environmentsFluency in a second language (English, French, Spanish)Experience of designing adaptation and/or climate proofed projectsExperience delivering services to private sector partners (reporting, physical risks assessments, materiality assessments)Familiarity with AI applications in environmental or climate contexts Working hereYou will be warmly welcomed into our workplace where every voice matters.
