Senior Control Systems Engineer

Brightwork's specialist client are currently recruiting a Senior Control Systems Engineer who will deliver remote support to site commissioning engineers by troubleshooting and resolving control systems and process control issues, ensuring successful project completion and smooth hand-over to customers for project acceptance at global installation sites.

Responsibilities

Technical Support: Providing remote assistance to site commissioning engineers, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to control systems.

System Configuration and Testing: Assist in configuring, testing, and validating control systems to ensure they meet project specifications and operational requirements.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of support activities, including issue resolution steps, system configurations, and any changes made during the support process.

Training and Guidance: Offer training and guidance to site engineers on the operation and maintenance of control systems, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle on-site challenges.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in control systems and support processes, providing feedback to the development team to enhance system performance and reliability.

Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of control systems.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure all control systems and support activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Trade Qualified Industrial Electrician or Instrument Fitter, coupled with Associated Diploma of Engineering (Electrical), or Equivalent

Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Control Systems)

EXPERIENCE

Proven experience in control systems design, programming, commissioning.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently and effectively.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear instructions and support to on-site engineers.

Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
