We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Customer Marketing Manager to join our Insight, Innovation & Marketing (IIM) team. Based at our site in Kirkham, Preston, we offer flexible hybrid working.
As a Senior Customer Marketing Manager, you will lead the strategic development and execution of retailer-specific marketing plans that drive growth across Kepak's brands, shopper engagement, and customer value across chilled categories. Sitting at the intersection of brand, sales, category, and retailer partnerships, you will be accountable for elevating the execution of our brands in market and leading a high-performing customer marketing function.
You will also shape long-term shopper strategies, optimise retail media investments, and manage, coach, and develop junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and delivery of customer marketing plans aligned to brand, category, and customer objectives
- Own the customer marketing calendar and ensure alignment with both internal strategic priorities and external retail cycles
- Act as the senior marketing interface with top UK grocery customers, building joint business plans and co-marketing initiatives
- Influence retailer strategy through compelling trade stories and evidence-based activation proposals for NPD and existing SKUs
- Lead high-impact retail media investment decisions across platforms like Tesco Media, Sainsbury's Nectar 360, ASDA Media, etc
- Line manage, coach and develop junior team member(s) to build functional expertise and performance culture
- Own and manage the customer marketing budget with a focus on effective and efficient investment allocation
- Lead cross-functional alignment with Sales, Category, Brand, and Digital teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial plans
- Utilise shopper and loyalty data (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, retailer portals) to unlock opportunities, personalise execution, and grow brand penetration
- Adapt national brand campaigns to drive engagement at the shopper level
- Develop and implement promotional strategies (in-store displays, retailer loyalty programmes, sampling, core in-store/digital activations)
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in marketing discipline, ideally within the food industry or consumer good knowledge and/or experience of engaging with UK retailers.
- Has experience within the customer, trade marketing space with a strong commercial focus
- Strong Presentation Skills
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong experience in performance tracking, data analysis, and strategic decision-making
- UK Retail Expertise: Strong strategic understanding of the UK retail market with depth across channels, not limited to Grocery
- Collaboration & Leadership: Strong ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships with key stakeholders
- Commercial Acumen: A results-driven approach with an understanding of market dynamics and brand management.
