Overview

Senior Data Analyst - 9 month FTC role at Utility Warehouse (UW). We’re looking for a data professional who is deeply proficient in SQL, highly analytical, and passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights to support data-informed decision making.

You’ll join a small but mighty Business Intelligence team and report to the Business Intelligence Manager. You’ll collaborate with operational delivery teams to understand business goals, shape data requirements, and deliver insights with real-world impact.

Responsibilities

• Assist the BI Manager in overseeing quality control processes.
• Lead complex projects and represent the BI function in cross-team settings.
• Proactively shape team processes, improve tooling, and drive data culture.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data, driving actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Build and maintain impactful dashboards and reports using Looker Studio (or similar BI tools), enabling teams to self-serve and track KPIs.
• Translate complex data into clear stories for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Partner with stakeholders to define metrics and ensure consistent reporting across teams.
• Write advanced SQL to extract, clean, and transform large-scale datasets using BigQuery.
• Support, mentor and coach more junior analysts.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills; hands-on experience with raw data and building scalable datasets (ideally in BigQuery).
• Expertise with Looker Studio (or similar BI tools like Tableau, Power BI).
• Demonstrable knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling concepts.
• Experience with data modelling tools such as Dataform (or dbt).
• Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems and draw clear conclusions from data.
• Familiar with BI methodologies and best-practice principles.
