We’re a fast-growing, mission driven B-corp marketplace for active outdoor adventures, hiring our first dedicated Data & Business Intelligence Analyst to help us unlock deeper insight into our business, customers, and growth. If you thrive in high-growth environments, love data, are passionate about impact business and the outdoors, this job is for you!
This is a meaningful opportunity to shape the future of data and analytics at a purpose-led, globally scaling company. You’ll work alongside our Data Engineer and partner closely with our CFO, COO, and Head of Performance Marketing to build out the core dashboards, reporting capabilities, and analytical foundations that will guide commercial and operational decisions across the business.
Expect to work in an entrepreneurial environment that values learning, collaboration, and growth, where great ideas are actively encouraged, and taking responsibility for them is expected. We’re driven by a shared passion for unleashing the transformative power of adventure, making a huge difference to small independent businesses, local economies, communities and conservation around the world.
Key Responsibilities
Read more about working at Much Better Adventures.
- Own the end-to-end BI function – design, build, iterate, and evangelise dashboards and self-serve reporting (Metabase, Looker) that the wider business relies on daily.
- Prototype and productionise lightweight machine-learning models & apps (e.g. in Python + Agentic LLMs, streamlit) that can be surfaced back to the business via dbt, notebooks or BI tools.
- Conduct in-depth analysis on customer behavior, marketing performance, supply dynamics, and pricing to uncover opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Proactively uncover trends and growth levers, framing them in commercial terms (e.g. revenue, margin, CAC/LTV), and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand data needs and translate them into scalable, self-serve solutions.
- Run regular insight sessions – present dashboard walk-throughs and regular business reviews to leadership, translating numbers into clear actions.
- Champion data-driven decision-making and nurture a data culture—running ad-hoc training or office hours as required.
- 7+ years’ (or demonstrably equivalent) experience in analytics / BI, including one or more high-growth phases (Seed–Series B+) at B2C startups, marketplaces, or subscription businesses.
- Expert SQL and experience with modern cloud warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
- Fluency in dbt or comparable transformation frameworks; Python or R for deeper analysis is a plus.
- A portfolio of dashboards you personally shipped and iterated on (Metabase, Looker, or similar).
- Mastery of B2C KPIs: you can debate LTV methodology, cohort retention curves and blended vs incremental CAC in your sleep.
- Proven record of influencing founders/VPs through crisp storytelling—written, visual and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and excited to shape a data culture from the ground up.
- A personal passion for adventure travel, sustainability, or impact-led businesses.
- 38 days holiday per year (inclusive of public holidays) - to be used when you like
- Competitive compensation aligned with UK market benchmarks and your level of experience.
- Flexible hours set up (40 hours p/w for full time roles), and a fully remote company
- Company-wide, adventurous meet-ups
- Experience what we do: everyone goes on a free MBA trip within their first year
- A £500 annual travel voucher to spend on an MBA trip/s
- 30% Employee discount, plus 15% friends and family discount for MBA trips
- Generous Pension scheme (UK employees only)
- Free access to private GP, and unlimited mental health support and counselling via our partner at BHSF.
- Budget to set up a remote working space and access to co-working spaces
- Supportive Maternity and Paternity Pay: we offer 16 weeks full pay if you’re the primary caregiver & 4 weeks full pay if you’re the secondary caregiver.
Our hiring process is fully remote, and all interviews are done online. Every application is carefully read by a real member of the team (no AI screening here).
- Stage 1: Initial application and automated screening Q&A
- Stage 2: A ‘get to know each other’ interview, to find out more about your experience and see if we’re a good fit. (approx 30–45 mins)
- Stage 3: A project assignment, plus preparation for a short presentation to be given in the interview.
- Stage 4: In-depth interview where we review your assignment, listen to your presentation, with two members of the MBA team. (Approx 60–90 mins)
- Preferred Start Date: ASAP
- Salary Range: £55-75k, depending on experience.
- Working Hours: a full time role is 40 hours per week, with core hours being 1000 - 1500 GMT (regardless of where you are based), and a flexible hours policy for the remaining time. We also welcome applicants from those wanting to work part-time, but we require 80% (32 hours) minimum.
