OverviewFutureheads has partnered with an early-stage climate tech venture tackling ocean conservation and the ocean economy. This is a greenfield build where your work will have direct global impact.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will own the full data stack from ingestion through to analytics, building and maintaining scalable pipelines across API, streaming, and batch processes. You will manage cloud infrastructure on AWS with a DevOps mindset, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and scaling. Working closely with engineering and product teams, you will deliver data solutions for analytics, internal tools, and AI models, while establishing and maintaining best practices for data governance, security, and reliability.What we’re looking for5+ years’ experience in data engineering and cloud infrastructureExpertise in Python (PySpark), SQL, and dbt (or similar)Strong DevOps skills: Terraform, Docker, CI/CD, monitoring/logging toolsAWS experience: S3, ECS/Fargate, RDS, LambdaData warehousing experience (PostgreSQL or similar)Experience with event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub) a plusProven ability to deliver scalable, low-latency data services in fast-moving environmentsWhat’s on offerReal equity ownership and upside potentialRemote-first, flexible working with occasional London office daysAutonomy, ownership, and high-impact decision-makingCollaborative culture with a focus on inclusion and diversityIf you’re passionate about using data to make a real difference for the planet, this is your chance to join a mission-driven, early-stage team with global ambition.
