About the Role At Preply, we create life‑changing learning experiences. As a Senior Data Scientist – Insights, you will shape our product strategy and deliver data‑driven insights to cross‑functional teams. You will work closely with product managers, tech leads, designers, and data leaders to drive experimentation, analyze user behavior, and inform key decisions. What You’ll Be Doing
Develop a deep understanding of our product dynamics, user behavior, and marketplace economics. Continuously improve the platform by collecting and analyzing data to uncover insights that guide product evolution. Analyze customer behavior and product usage, quantify retention drivers, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Model the impact of new features and initiatives, identify growth opportunities, and help prioritize the roadmap. Define key performance indicators, tracking events, and engagement metrics aligned with business goals. Design, execute, and evaluate large‑scale experiments to test ideas and measure business outcomes. Build strong relationships with data and technical leaders to foster cross‑team collaboration.
What You Need To Succeed
Experience in data analytics with product teams and experimentation. Strong knowledge of A/B testing, statistical concepts, and data analysis (conversion, LTV, cohort, retention). Proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar languages for efficient, scalable code. Curiosity, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills with proactive mindset. Excellent storytelling and communication skills to convey complex insights to diverse audiences. Enthusiasm for influencing product roadmap and strategy.
Nice to Have
Background in two‑sided marketplaces or digital businesses. Experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap. Familiarity with machine learning for user behavior prediction or recommendation. Experience in data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI). Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field. Previous mentoring or coaching experience.
