Senior Data Scientist

London – Hybrid

About the Role

We’re working with a fast-growing SaaS company that processes billions of data points daily to protect clients’ digital advertising from wasteful and fraudulent traffic.

They are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with strong machine learning expertise to join their team and take ownership of developing and enhancing detection models that safeguard ad spend and improve campaign quality.

In this role, you’ll design and deploy scalable ML systems, collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure reliability and performance in production. You’ll also be at the forefront of research into new and emerging fraud patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of ML models for fraud and invalid traffic detection, ensuring seamless deployment and integration into production systems.
• Drive experimentation and prototyping of new algorithms and data products.
• Research and surface emerging ad fraud patterns in large-scale data.
• Monitor and optimise model performance post-deployment, tackling challenges such as model drift and false positives.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to translate business needs into impactful data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to technical standards, mentor peers, and foster a high-quality data science culture.
• Stay up to date with the latest in ML and fraud detection techniques, feeding innovations into the product roadmap.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining ML models.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud infrastructure with large datasets and real-time prediction applications.
• Familiarity with MLOps best practices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, S3, Redshift, etc.).
• Strong system-level thinking, including privacy, compliance, and explainability considerations.
• Pragmatic and results-driven, with the ability to balance technical excellence with business value.
• Experience in adtech, media, or fraud detection is highly desirable.
