We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our Navitas Engineering team as a Senior Design Engineer or Design Engineer for the Energy/DNO markets (Electrical).

Navitas Engineering covers the complete asset life-cycle, including design, installation, testing, and commissioning, with capabilities in the UK and overseas.

The Senior Design Engineer will work as part of the design and engineering team to deliver high-quality design solutions within time and budget constraints. The role requires expertise in electrical engineering within the DNO and energy sectors, including grid connections, substations, power distribution, and renewable energy integration. The Senior Design Engineer will also mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading projects from feasibility to commissioning.
  2. Overseeing electrical design production for safe and efficient implementation.
  3. Managing relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  4. Ensuring design outputs meet standards and are compliant with industry regulations.
  5. Developing electrical designs for HV/LV networks, substations, and renewable integrations.
  6. Utilizing industry-standard electrical design tools and power system analysis software like DigSILENT PowerFactory.
  7. Leading risk assessments and quality assurance processes.
  8. Providing mentorship and managing design documentation.
  9. Engaging with stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  10. Supporting project finances and planning.

Ideal candidates will have proven experience in designing HV substations up to 132 kV, renewable energy connection to DNO infrastructure, and strong knowledge of DNO procedures and standards. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Chartered status or working towards it, and excellent communication skills are required.
