Our continual drive to innovate, while encouraging sustainability, ensures we remain at the forefront of the industry, and is demonstrated in our long-standing relationships with major energy providers in multiple countries.OverviewA day in the life of a Murphy Senior Design ManagerLead on review of requirements at tender stage and allocate resources as appropriate during tender and upon successful awardProduce design briefs for temporary and permanent worksReview submissions as directed for quality and sufficiencyLead design matters on small/medium/large/mega sized project/s as directed, allocating design tasks to individuals/companies as required and maintain associated RACIManage design managers/design co-ordinators on the projects, carry out staff appraisals when required and identify appropriate development activitiesAttend site as required to liaise with Site Managers / Engineers and ensure appropriate consideration of constructability and permanent worksEnsure that that Aconex (or client approved alternative CDE system) is kept up to date by the Document Controller and correct drawing revisions are maintained and issued to sitesMonitor, track, and report on Design progress, RFIs and Design NCRsMonitor, co-ordinate, and manage the design by consultants, MAE, suppliers, interface contractors, and outsourced designers as appropriateEnsure compliance with Standards and Client requirements, and assist in monitoring to ensure working to agreed design requirementsEnsure an understanding of, and an influence on the contracts Design Consultants are working under including their fees, schedule of services, programme, and liabilities and warrantiesQualificationsChartered Engineer with a UK engineering institute (IMechE, ICE, IChemE. IET, IGEM etc)Experience in either HV Cables, HV Plant, National Grid, DNO's ,Pipelines or Substations would be idealSignificant Design Management experience and of hand over of design requirements at completionDigitally competent and familiar with BIM, CDEs and Document management systems and managing teams against requirementsExperience discharging Principal Designer dutiesDesign management training/qualification #J-18808-Ljbffr
