Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR) is a branding business, founded in 1990 and proudly independent ever since. We started out in the world of packaging, but now we're worldwide—from three founders, to more than 320 of us across the UK and USA. Together, we build and deliver brands across the entire consumer experience. However, more important than what we do is why we do it: to inspire brands and people to be their true selves, brave, tenacious, and authentic. We are looking for an ideas-led Senior Designer, reporting into the Design Director.

At JKR, Senior Designer partners closely with our Client Services team, acting as the lead creative on multiple projects and effectively supporting the Design Director. Alongside the Design Director, you will inspire the creative team, mentoring and sharing knowledge with more junior team members, enabling them to reach their potential. Creatively, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of Brand First, through charismatic design and how it can get a brand noticed and chosen. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Strategy, Program & Account Management, and the creative specialisms to develop distinctive brands, through fully understanding what the brand stands for and its core values. Working as part of a wider team of designers, senior designers and Design Directors, the ideal candidate is early on in their senior design career, or looking to take the step up from midweight.

Responsibilities

• Creates holistic concepts and solutions that build on a Brand's charisma and offer a unique point of difference across all aspects of brand experience
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of how to connect strategy to creative work
• Quickly edits concepts to focus in on the best ideas
• Collaborates with and uses internal expertise and experience, as well as client's knowledge to get to better creative solutions
• Displays integrity, honesty, reliability, responsiveness and openness to be trusted by clients and internal teams
• Behaves as the clients' creative partner to build trust and ultimately long-term relationships
• Acts as a brand ambassador, challenging and interpreting feedback where necessary to build the brand
• Demonstrates design knowledge, expertise and relevant provocation to clients in line with the brand
• Proactively looks for opportunities that might aid a Brand's long term health
• Delivers strong pitches, client presentations and influences results
• Communicates at all levels with confidence and clarity, adapting communication style to audience and situation, whilst always delivering a consistent message
• Openly encourages collaborative ways of working and cross-department communication and engagement

Requirements

• Adept at creating holistic branding concepts and design solutions
• Experience working on multiple creative projects, editing concepts to focus on the best ideas
• A partner on pitches and build client presentations
• A desire to create world-class work, through quality of concept and craft
• At least 5 years packaging or branding design experience
• Excellent knowledge of relevant software (Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma)
• A passion for storytelling
• Ability to blend creative and technical skills
• An enthusiasm for design, identity, and brand experience
