12 month contractHybrid working - 60% onsite per week in either Leeds, Manchester or BirminghamThe RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Engineer with deep expertise in network appliances to help design, migrate, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure, with a strong focus on network and cloud environments.This role requires advanced hands-on experience with F5, Palo Alto, CheckPoint, Zscaler, and AWS, along with solid knowledge of modern DevOps tools and practices.Key accountabilities:Design, implement, and manage F5 appliances in AWS.Streamline multiple network patterns into a unified, self-service solution.Configure and administer Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewalls in enterprise environments.Design, deploy, and operate AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, availability, and performance.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI). Automate provisioning with Terraform and Ansible (IaC/CaC).Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise hybrid networks, systems, and applications.Work with security, development, and operations teams to apply DevSecOps best practices.Support incident response and implement long-term fixes. Maintain clear documentation of configurations and processes.Key criteria:Extensive hands-on experience with F5 load balancers.Strong expertise with Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewalls.Experience with Zscaler (preferred). Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, routing, etc.).Proficient in AWS services (EC2, ELB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, S3, VPC Lattice, Transit Gateway, VPN, etc.).Practical knowledge of DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Terraform).Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).Experience managing production systems in high-availability or regulated environments.Ability to mentor junior engineers.If you consider yourself to have a disability or if you are a veteran, and you meet the essential criteria for the role, you will be put forward for the Guaranteed Interview' scheme whereby you will have the opportunity to discuss this role and your suitability with a member of the Sourcing team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
