About this opportunity

We're looking to recruit a DevOps Engineer to be part of our Payments Services Platform and help achieve our mission to provide compliant and efficient payments capabilities for the Group and drive innovation to enable customers to move money confidently, quickly and securely. Your role will be part of a cross-disciplinary feature team in addition to being a highly experienced member of our wider Lloyds engineering team delivering change.

Your role as a DevOps specialist involves supporting teams with modern DevOps solutions. You’ll learn new skills, technologies and approaches to software development as well as benefiting from a culture that celebrates diversity, equal opportunity and provides opportunities for flexible working.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on spreading your time among short term support-related tasks, longer-term initiatives
  • Accomplished in problem-solving, communication, optimising, continuous learning and development and leading others.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams across various DevOps tooling in their relevant technology area to develop effective solutions.
  • Contribute to DevOps strategy both internally and externally to the division.

What you’ll need

  • Deep hands-on experience of the entire pipeline and supporting tooling - Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Docker, SonarQube, Shell scripting, Groovy, Python, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes.
  • Proven understanding of GIT, source code management and managing change.
  • Practical DevOps experience in at least one cloud platform – GCP, AWS, Azure, OpenShift etc.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of continuous integration and delivery for fast and secure route to live.
  • Technical understanding of Java and related technologies including Spring Boot, Maven, JSON, Kafka, REST APIs will be very advantageous.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, Linux, networking and security would be an added advantage.
  • Practical experience with agile ways of working and related tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
