We are currently supporting a specialist technical consultancy in their search for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their growing Central Government team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects while shaping modern, secure cloud infrastructure.

Location & Working Model

  • Work from home or from one of six UK office hubs (including Bristol, Cheltenham, and London).
  • Bi-weekly travel to London required to meet with customers.

The Role

  • As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and evolving secure and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS infrastructure.
  • Deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters (Docker, Helm).
  • Developing automated tools and processes for deployment, monitoring, testing, and maintenance.
  • Creating and maintaining security, compliance, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Optimising systems for high availability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitoring and improving infrastructure/application performance.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure/application issues.
  • Mentoring junior DevOps engineers.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for cloud technologies and automation, who thrives in a collaborative, problem-solving environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Configuration Management & Automation expertise.
  • Containers & orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm).
  • Observability tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana.
  • Basic programming skills (any language).
  • CI/CD pipeline development and management experience.
  • Eligibility Requirement: You must be a British citizen who has lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years to qualify for high-level security clearance.
