Overview

Join to apply for the Senior DevOps Engineer role at Z-Axis Graphics. This is a 12-month contract paying £750 per day, inside IR35, with hybrid working (3 days per week on-site). Active SC Clearance is required prior to commencing the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and administer F5 appliances in AWS
  • Standardise multiple network solutions into a single self-service pattern
  • Configure and manage Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls in enterprise environments
  • Build and manage secure, scalable AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, Transit Gateway, VPN, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and IaC/CaC methodologies
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise hybrid systems, networks, and applications
  • Collaborate with security, development, and operation teams to embed DevSecOps best practices
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
  • Document infrastructure, processes, and topologies

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on expertise with F5 load balancers
  • Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks and Check Point firewalls
  • Knowledge of Zscaler (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, routing)
  • Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, ELB, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Terraform
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Background in managing production systems within regulated or high-availability environments
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers
