Senior Dewatering Designer Hydrologist – Alba Dewatering Services Limited

Alba Dewatering Services Limited is recruiting an experienced Engineering/Technical Hydrogeologist to design groundwater control and recharge systems for a variety of clients across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver best‑in‑class dewatering solutions for new and existing projects.
  • Prepare detailed desk‑based studies, groundwater site characterisation, site investigation supervision and quantitative groundwater assessments.
  • Develop and propose conceptual and detailed hydrogeological models and risk assessments using industry standard software (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD).
  • Produce technical reports, monitoring plans and support operators on site during field monitoring and installation.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director and other departments to spearhead new projects and maintain a high standard of work at all times.
  • Travel to project sites as required; a clean UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

  • 2:1 or higher honours degree in geology, environmental science, geophysics or a related field (postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology, geochemistry, geology or engineering is preferred).
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in hydrogeology and groundwater investigation.
  • Proficient in groundwater site characterisation, site investigation supervision and hydrogeological quantitative assessments.
  • Strong analytical, communication and numeracy skills; excellent written communication is required.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience with UK regulatory bodies and groundwater legislation is a plus.

Schedule

Location and Commute

The role is based in Church Broughton, South Derbyshire, with hybrid remote option. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Church Broughton before starting work.
