Overview

DWP Digital is seeking a Senior Digital Project Manager to lead across multiple digital projects. Location options include Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield with a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver change, maintain core systems, and develop new services that support millions of people.
  • Ensure robust project controls, manage risks and dependencies, and maintain governance and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with Digital Directors and navigate complex issues that may require board-level decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to achieve results; foster a high-performing team culture; coach others to improve flow, quality and ownership; address conflict constructively.
  • Champion continuous learning in project management, digital frameworks, and emerging technologies; mentor others and help shape standards across the wider delivery community.

Qualifications

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need? The application process requires both a technical and personal statement with clear examples of how you meet the following:

  • History of taking full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of large-scale, complex projects, preferably transformation, utilizing both internal and external suppliers.
  • Experience establishing new teams and agile processes related to project deliverables and business-as-usual tasks.
  • Experience managing complex external dependencies that require significant planning to maintain pace and quality of delivery.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and enthusiastically to build trust; explain complex technical issues in an accessible way and influence senior-level decision making.
  • Identify and pursue appropriate development opportunities for yourself and your team to enhance delivery outcomes.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager taking full responsibility for large-scale, complex projects, preferably transformation, with internal and external suppliers.

Location

You’ll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working

We work a hybrid model – you’ll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay and Benefits

Pay up to £68,205. Pension contributions worth 28.97%. Holidays starting at 26 days rising to 31, with up to 3 extra flexi days per month and usual public holidays.
