The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced EC&I Designer to provide design services across a portfolio of projects. The role involves developing and delivering CE&I design solutions in response to problem definitions and Project Functional Specifications, as well as supporting the delivery of asset care and project improvements.

The Role

The successful candidate will work within the existing CE&I design team, delivering high-quality design outputs in line with project schedules and supporting the achievement of key delivery milestones. Location: Warrington, Cheshire (Hybrid Working); Hours: 40 per week; Employment Type: Contract (12 months +); Clearance: BPSS (British passport holder only); Rate: Flexible.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Develop and deliver CE&I design solutions in response to client requirements and functional specifications.
  • Collaborate within the CE&I design team to ensure design packages are delivered on time.
  • Support plant configuration walkdowns to confirm and accurately record baseline details.
  • Produce outline design schemes and detailed design documentation.
  • Attend design reviews and support the Responsible Engineer (RE) in the presentation of design documents.
  • Produce designs, schemes, drawings, and supporting calculations to meet project needs.
  • Deliver complete design packages suitable for manufacture and installation, including drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Create and update design drawings using AutoCAD.
  • You will have the following qualifications & experience
  • Proven experience as a CE&I designer/engineer, producing schemes, drawings, and calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of both instrumentation and electrical design.
  • Good understanding and application of CDM regulations.
  • Experience producing design packages for manufacture and installation.
  • Competent in producing and modifying design drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with at least 2 years of design delivery experience, OR
  • BTEC / HNC / HND (or equivalent) with 5–8 years of design delivery experience.

It's also great if you have the following

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Trimble ProDesign, Aveva E&I.
  • Experience with client IT systems such as MS Office, Cimage, etc.
