With ambitions to grow our UK presence to emulate the success of our global business, we are looking for an experienced ornithologist to join our established network of over 95 ecologists, contributing to a diverse project portfolio.

We seek an ornithologist with project experience across various sectors, confident in liaising with clients and stakeholders, and interested in managing or mentoring team members. Project management skills and the ability to deliver multiple projects within deadlines are essential.

Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree or consultancy experience, a full driving licence, membership or eligibility for CIEEM, and the legal right to work in the UK. Mentoring junior staff, proactive collaboration, good financial awareness, and report review skills are highly desirable.

We encourage ecologists to lead projects aligned with their expertise and offer in-house project management and technical training. Attention to detail and high standards are crucial, along with strong field skills and a desire to develop technically.

Additional skills outside of ornithology are beneficial. Our work spans sectors including residential, defence, energy, and transport, supported by our team’s collective expertise.

Examples of current projects include:

1. Winter bird surveys assessing impacts on European sites
2. Bird surveys at wind farm sites in the North East and Scotland
3. Surveys supporting Habitat Regulations works
4. Breeding bird surveys on large greenfield sites
