Allen & York are excited to be working with a highly regarded, purpose-driven consultancy, committed to protecting people and the planet. Predominately working in the private sector, our client provides risk mitigation services through inspection, assessment and advisory services, collaborating on interesting projects in a variety of different sectors, to include logistics, education and renewable energy.

Our client is looking for a commercially aware Senior Ecology Consultant to join the successful and growing Ecology team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage ecological surveys and mitigation strategies from start to finish.
  • Demonstrate strong field skills across a range of habitats and protected species.
  • Prepare concise, technical reports in line with CIEEM guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues; guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Manage client relationships, liaising effectively with clients, contractors, statutory consultees and the public.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of ecological legislation and planning policy; experience with BNG and BREEAM.

Qualifications

  • Membership of CIEEM.
  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Comprehensive experience in ecological consulting.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills with ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for the role.
  • A level 1 or above Bat and/or GCN Natural England licences would be advantageous.
