Senior Ecologist – London

Location: London

Flexible Remote Work: 2 days in the office/on-site, 2 days working from home

Salary: £39,000 - £47,000 per annum (Plus £3,000 HCLA where appropriate)

Role

As a Senior Ecologist, you’ll be the go-to expert for leading exciting projects. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting Preliminary Ecology Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and Habitats Regulations Assessments.
• Designing and leading ecological surveys and mitigation strategies.
• Mentoring consultants and graduates, and contributing to the team’s success.
• Collaborating across disciplines on unique, high-impact projects.
• Managing client relationships and ensuring your advice shapes project outcomes.
• Maintaining academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences.
• CIEEM membership with a commitment to Chartership.
• In-depth knowledge of the legislative and planning policy framework.
• Excellent survey skills, including extended Phase I/UKHabs, specialist species surveys (holding at least one license or specialisation), and/or botanical assessments.
• Strong communication, organisation, and project management skills.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
