About The Role
The Senior E-commerce back-end (BE) Software Engineer role is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of scalable, secure and high-performing E-commerce back-end services for the E-Commerce B2C application.
Working collaboratively with software architects, front-end engineers and digital experience owners to build and maintain robust APIs, optimize application performance and ensure system reliability of the E-Commerce B2C application, through leveraging Agile software development practices.
Working collaboratively with front-end engineers and digital experience owners to build and maintain the business logic and data layers of the E-Commerce B2C application including product search & filtering, customer authentication, shopping cart and checkout, order tracking and history, customer self-service.
What You’ll Be Doing
Designing, developing, implementing and maintaining scalable, secure and high-performance back-end services for the existing E-commerce B2C application.
Building and optimizing RESTful and SOAP APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations such as PIM, Payment Services, Digital Marketing platforms and integration with custom developed ERP and CRM systems creating seamless, well-structured API integrations.
Working with DevOps engineers to integrate CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools and to use these to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.
Participating and providing technical insights during Agile influenced ceremonies, including sprint planning sessions, stand-ups and retrospectives.
Working with Infrastructure and Network teams to implement and support caching mechanisms and performance optimizations to enhance response times.
Ensuring API and web development security best practices for authentication, authorization and data protection are implemented and maintained that comply with applicable UK regulations such as UK-GDPR, UK Payment Services Regulations and PCI-DSS.
Keeping up to date with emerging E-commerce back-end technologies, industry trends and best practices.
