What You'll Be Doing

  • Electrical Design Leadership: Develop detailed, cost-effective electrical engineering designs that meet project specifications. Create specifications, calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Technical Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and CAD draughtsmen while promoting a strong knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Advanced Power System Studies: Lead studies such as Load Flow, Fault Analysis, G5/5 Harmonics, Voltage Flicker (P28), and G99 compliance.
  • Proposal & Sales Support: Contribute technical expertise during the sales process, including reviewing RFQs and supporting client engagement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and partners to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Liaise with Mechanical Engineers and Project Managers to align designs across disciplines.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Lead HAZOPs, design reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive standardisation, innovation, and value engineering.

Who We're Looking For

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or HNC/HND with equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years' experience in electrical design within power or renewable energy sectors (1-25MW).
  • Strong command of LV and MV system design, control, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in MS Office and electrical analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT).
  • Eligible to work in the UK and hold a valid UK/EU driving licence.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration (e.g., IET).
  • Knowledge of DNO/G99 requirements, NERS accreditation, and HV substation design.
  • Experience in CHP systems or hybrid power applications.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, PLCs, SCADA, and grid connection processes.
