Job Description

Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! Drive the cutting-edge design and development of Electrical Systems for the revolutionary SMR nuclear power plant! From defining system architecture to selecting and specifying high-performance equipment, you’ll play a key role in delivering a fully verified, world-class power station. Collaborate with top engineering teams across the project and apply a structured systems engineering approach to bring innovative electrical solutions to life.

Your mission:

Define & Manage Requirements – Review, refine, and document high-level electrical requirements, ensuring they are testable and align with project needs. Capture constraints, interfaces, and quality attributes using structured processes (e.g., IBM DOORS).

Design, Analyze & Verify – Develop and implement robust electrical system/component designs that meet project specifications. Conduct functional analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate performance. Define and execute verification activities in collaboration with the Verification team, ensuring compliance through rigorous testing.

Ensure Compliance & Quality – Maintain engineering excellence throughout the SMR project lifecycle. Conduct technical reviews, provide key inputs to project technical review gates, and ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards.

Support Strategy & Risk Management – Participate in capacity planning and contribute to long-term strategic goals. Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support decision-making to enhance project success.

Develop & Share Knowledge – Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices. Develop training materials and tools to support knowledge sharing across teams. Provide expert advice to project teams and integrated product teams (IPT).

Collaborate & Represent – Work closely with internal engineering teams to drive standardization and a commoditized approach to system and component development. Represent the electrical engineering function in meetings, working groups, and external engagements with regulators, customers, and suppliers.
