On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Manager to support a high-profile infrastructure programme. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence national lighting and energy management strategy within a complex public sector environment.
This hybrid role requires 2 days per week in the client’s Glasgow office, with flexibility around remote working for the remaining days.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist expertise and technical challenge on electrical and lighting systems, supporting oversight of contractors during scheme development, delivery, and investment programmes.
Lead the development and implementation of strategy for Lighting Central Management Systems and LED equipment renewal.
Set and maintain electrical best practices, including policy and strategy development.
Serve as the technical lead for electrical policy and standards across the organisation.
Oversee energy management initiatives, including supplier engagement and the delivery of energy efficiency improvements.
Manage financial administration and reporting for national electrical assets.
Essential Qualifications:
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IET).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration is desirable but not essential.
Essential Experience:
Proven expertise in electrical and lighting systems within a roads or transport infrastructure environment, with solid knowledge of applicable industry standards.
Strong understanding of the public sector electricity market and experience managing varied energy supply types.
Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Hands-on experience with contract management, and a track record of successfully delivering complex priorities in dynamic, multi-stakeholder settings.
