Arms Solution Engineering division develops SoCs for various application segments, using the latest IP products from Arm and other vendors. We are looking for a creative and hard‑working SoC Design Engineer to join the team and help develop these systems. You will contribute to the specification, design and verification of various products. You will join a team of dedicated engineers in Manchester and Sheffield passionate about SoC Design, and will collaborate with multiple other groups inside Arm to design our SoC products. This is an exciting and unique initiative, where we are bringing in innovative talent and expertise from across the semiconductor industry to drive how the next generation of leading compute on Arm devices are built across the industry, opening up significant potential for the future! Would you like to play a key role in defining the solution growth story in Arm? Responsibilities
Review the SoC Solution architecture, craft the design micro‑architecture specifications, and develop RTL. Fix bugs, run various design checks, generate power intent, and support implementation constraint generation. Work closely with the verification team to review test plans and help debug design issues. Collaborate with performance and power analysis teams to evaluate and improve system performance and power. Continuously innovate by improving the design methodologies used by the team. Balance other opportunities such as working with Project Management on activities, plans, and schedules.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with RTL design for complex SoC development using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog. Knowledge of static design checks, synthesis and timing analysis, power management techniques, and power and clock domain crossing. Exposure to all stages of design: initial concept, specification, implementation, power and performance analysis, power optimisation, testing, documentation and support. Produce specifications and documentation describing complex designs. Knowledge of shell programming/scripting (e.g., Tcl, Perl, Python, etc.).
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
Experience with Arm‑based designs and/or Arm System Architectures. Experience developing and integrating subsystems for PCIe, UCIe, DDR/LPDDR/HBM, Ethernet, etc. High‑level programming experience such as C/C++ and/or assembly language programming. Experience in embedded operating systems, device drivers, microprocessor and embedded system hardware architectures.
