Role purpose

The Senior Enterprise Architect for the Salesforce Platform oversees the design and development of Salesforce solutions delivered by a panel of delivery partners to the organisation. They ensure that Salesforce architecture is scalable, secure, and optimized for efficiency. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions. The role holder will ensure third-party alignment to SJP’s architectural patterns, guardrails and principles and will develop a robust governance mechanism to assure delivery on the Platform is secure, well-structured and makes best utilization of the platform’s capabilities, working with value stream and product owners, and the Technical Platform Owner.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop end-to-end Salesforce architecture and solutions to meet business goals. Create technical designs, workflows, and data models and ensure solutions adhere to best practices and comply with company standards.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Salesforce products (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, etc.).
  • Integrate Salesforce with other systems, using APIs, middleware, and other technologies.
  • Oversee migration of legacy systems to Salesforce.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements; optimise Salesforce processes to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Conduct code and system reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Implement security protocols and ensure data privacy; maintain compliance with relevant regulations, such as GDPR.
  • Stay updated on Salesforce releases and new technologies; identify opportunities to leverage Salesforce for better business outcomes.
  • Train and mentor team members on Salesforce best practices.
  • Support the domain community: collaborate with programme/value stream solution architects to improve Salesforce architecture methodology across SJP; drive alignment between EA, solution architects, and external delivery partners.
  • Participation in architectural assurance and governance processes to ensure initiatives fit the Salesforce landscape and agreed strategy.
  • Promote the value of Salesforce Platform architecture within the strategy to execution lifecycle.
  • Ad-hoc analysis to inform strategic decision-making at business division or enterprise level.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Salesforce Architect who can design and implement end-to-end Salesforce solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance while integrating with other systems. This role requires expertise in performance optimization, governance, and mentoring teams, with a strong focus on aligning Salesforce architecture with business strategy and enterprise-wide best practices.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in Salesforce development and architecture.
  • Extensive knowledge of Salesforce platform features, limitations, and ecosystem.
  • Demonstrable experience working with business stakeholders to create strategies, visions, and roadmaps.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer, Administrator, or related certifications.

Desirable Criteria

  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or working toward it.

Special Requirements

There may also be a requirement for travel within the UK or to sites external to the UK on an exceptional basis.
