Overview Locations: Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds or HalifaxSalary: £90,440 – £106,400Hours: Full time, 35 hours per weekWorking Pattern: Hybrid – at least two days per week at an office site About The Opportunity We’re seeking experienced Senior Enterprise Architects to lead the strategic direction of our technology landscape. In this pivotal role, you’ll shape and influence architectural vision, drive major transformation programmes, and ensure our solutions align with business strategy and future needs. What You’ll Do
Lead the definition and delivery of technology strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders and the Architecture Lead. Set and maintain architecture roadmaps, guardrails, and patterns, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals. Provide strategic oversight and governance for major transformation initiatives. Mentor and develop a team of architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Represent architecture in executive forums, influencing decision‑making at the highest levels. Build and maintain strong relationships across business, engineering, and technology teams. Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, bringing innovative thinking to the organisation. Champion agile ways of working and support iterative delivery.
What You’ll Need
Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) Strategic experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), hybrid hosting, and modern architectures Strong background in API design, microservices, modular applications, and data strategies (ETL, modelling, governance) Knowledge of cybersecurity, technology sustainability, and digital transformation in complex environments Experience in payments, retail banking, and large‑scale change Proven ability to set architectural vision and influence at senior levels Experience leading and mentoring architecture teams Strong track record of driving technology strategy and transformation Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to engage and influence executive stakeholders Ability to build trusted relationships across engineering, product, and business teams Commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of technology trends Passion for driving process improvements and embedding best practices
