Job Description

Owing to continued demand and our ambitious plans for growth, Turner & Townsend is looking to recruit Senior Estimators with proven experience in the infrastructure sector (Rail, Airports, Highways, Power, Water or Utilities). Opportunities are available in our London, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester offices, and estimators may work remotely (from the UK) on tasks for clients worldwide.

Estimators at Turner & Townsend make a difference by supporting clients as an embedded resource or by delivering ad‑hoc work across multiple infrastructure projects through the Estimating Hub.

Key Estimating Outputs

• Estimate Production – from order‑of‑magnitude estimates to detailed estimates built from first principles.
• Estimating Assurance
• Estimating Support to Major Programme set‑up
• Estimating Data management and reporting

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely manner.
• Control and manage the estimating process at the project level.
• Produce estimates with minimal supervision.
• Promote estimating best practice within Turner & Townsend.
• Assist in achieving departmental objectives.
• Stay current with developments in own technical area to provide best‑practice advice aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• High-standard qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience.
• Proven experience providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
• Experience with estimating software packages.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, with chartered status or working towards it.
• Desirable: membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent.
