Role: Senior Finance Analyst (12-month FTC)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom

Hours: 8:45am–5:15pm (1 day a week from home)

PHMG is undergoing a period of strategic change, with increasing demands on Finance. We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst who can bring clarity, challenge, and fresh thinking to the numbers — not just reporting them, but telling the story behind them.

This role focuses on the Engagement, Cloud and Engineering departments. You won’t be preparing management accounts. Instead, you’ll dig into performance, highlight risks and opportunities, and give senior leaders the insight they need to make better decisions. You’ll also own commission calculations and run ad-hoc analysis across our client base, spotting trends others might miss.

Possible permanency: While this role is created to support through a period of change, there is real potential for it to become permanent for the right individual.

Responsibilities

• Turning financial data into clear narratives for senior management
• Supporting monthly finance reviews with sharp, insight-led analysis
• Owning commission calculations, ensuring accuracy and transparency
• Running deep-dive analysis to uncover risks and opportunities across the client base
• Partnering with department heads to understand what’s driving performance

Qualifications/Experience

• A finance analyst with proven experience delivering insight, not just numbers
• Excellent Excel skills and the ability to build and adapt financial models
• Experience with Power BI (or other BI tools) is a plus
• Actively studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
• Strong communication skills – able to explain the “so what” as clearly as the “what”
• Proactive, curious mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions
