Overview

This exciting opportunity is for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the IT Services Department on a permanent basis. The finance team sits within the Office of the CIO and has a dotted line into Central Finance, via the Divisional Financial Controller for UAS and GLAM. The role supports project finance for a portfolio and the I&E of a directorate, with additional oversight of other portfolios through one direct report.

About the Role

  • The finance team sits within the Office of the CIO and has a dotted line into Central Finance, via the Divisional Financial Controller for UAS and GLAM.
  • This is a key post within a department undergoing change as we commercialise our approach to service provision and manage a c.£100m digital transformation programme. The role requires strong people, process, IT and accounting skills in a complex, highly distributed organisation.
  • The role will be responsible for Project Finance of a project portfolio, as well as I&E of a directorate. Additional oversight will be had of other portfolios, I&E and transactions through one direct report.

About You

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, ACA) with strong accounting knowledge
  • Extensive experience in a large accounting environment, with expertise in management accounting, pricing, planning, reporting and business partnering
  • Ability to communicate financial terminology, management accounts and financial processes effectively to non-financial staff
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised with strong coordination skills, ensuring deadlines and project timelines are met
  • A commitment to maintaining exceptional accuracy in all aspects of the role
