Investigating complex or high-risk anti-money laundering alerts on business accounts. Responsible for recommending Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) to Monzo Bank EU. Making business onboarding decisions in high-risk or complex cases. Conducting ongoing due diligence on high-risk business accounts. Providing financial crime expertise and support to other operational teams across the business.
Responsibilities
- Investigate complex or high-risk AML alerts on business accounts.
- Recommend STRs to Monzo Bank EU when appropriate.
- Make risk-based onboarding decisions for high-risk or complex cases.
- Conduct ongoing due diligence on high-risk business accounts.
- Provide financial crime expertise and support to other teams across the business.
Qualifications
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal) to at least CEFR C1 level.
- Experience conducting high-risk business banking screening or complex financial crime investigations.
- Experience making independent, risk-based financial crime decisions in a regulated financial services firm.
- Knowledge of the current financial crime landscape in the UK and the EU, and associated financial crime risks.

We are Monzo, expanding in the EU. We are seeking Senior Investigators to lead the charge. The working hours to be covered by the team will be 8:00–18:30, based on 8.5 hours per day (1-hour lunch). Start date: Monday 5 January; you must be able to commit to the first 8 weeks with no holidays during this period.
