Senior Financial Operations Accountant

Odin helps people to raise and deploy capital seamlessly

We envision a world where people can vote with their money on what the future looks like, and participate in creating it.

Our first product makes it radically easier for anyone, anywhere, to launch & run a private markets investment firm - think "Shopify for VC / PE".

We handle all the “plumbing” and paperwork through one seamless platform - everything from setting up the legal structure for an investment vehicle through to processing exits.

We’re already trusted by over 10,000 VCs, angels and founders, and we're one of the fastest-growing fintechs in the UK, tripling income YoY. We've raised $5m in seed funding from top angels, family offices and VCs to support our own growth, and we are just getting started.

The Role

You’ll take full ownership of how money moves through Odin’s platform - the systems, controls, accuracy and speed that keep our platform and reporting rock solid, and our customer experience delightful. You’ll oversee this work across the 1,400+ SPVs and funds administered by Odin.

You will build the financial backbone that makes scaling possible: robust, accurate investment data and professional execution across every transaction. You’ll cover both fund accounting for our customers (fund managers and angel syndicates) and our own finances.

We’re looking for a hands-on operator with the judgment and precision to make complex systems work beautifully - someone who can turn messy inputs into reliable, auditable outcomes.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Venture Operations, you’ll own the following:

  • Overseeing the compliant flow of funds through the platform - from initial investor payments through to dividends and exits - across every investment vehicle administered by Odin. You’ll be accountable for accuracy, compliance, and confident decision-making even when the data isn't perfect.
  • Managing Odin’s internal finances, including month-end close, invoicing, payroll, and quality control over our external bookkeeping partner’s work.
  • Ensuring financial data integrity. Every transaction, ownership record, and ledger entry must balance. When something doesn’t, you’ll trace the issue, fix it, and implement systems to prevent it happening again.
  • Partnering with product and operations to automate manual workflows, reduce error rates, and build innovative, accurate financial infrastructure as we scale.
  • Serving as the senior escalation point for complex operational problems, trusted to make the right call and give guidance to more junior team members when the path isn’t clear, by using your judgement and external counsel where necessary.
  • Taking ownership of all or part of one-off, high-value projects, from regulatory license applications to complex new products for our customers, and seeing them through with minimal guidance.
  • Coaching junior members of the Operations team, setting high standards and helping them build the judgment needed to operate confidently in more complex situations.

About You

You’re a qualified accountant who wants to get things done, dislikes corporate environments and enjoys building structure from ambiguity. You know how to take complex financial systems, simplify them and make them work cleanly at scale.

You care deeply about operational excellence and you love thinking about how to improve financial systems: how money moves, how data flows, and how each small improvement compounds at scale. To you, the way things currently work in financial operations often seem stupid, and you can see a world where it’s much more efficient.

You’re the person people in a company turn to for financial clarity, and no one knows the data and systems better than you.

You’re calm under pressure, curious about how things work, and relentless about making them better. You thrive when trusted with autonomy and enjoy being the quiet expert others rely on for sound judgment.

You’ll thrive if you:

  • Have strong accounting fundamentals and a sharp analytical instinct.
  • Are motivated by solving detail-heavy problems that others avoid.
  • Are willing to take ownership and responsibility for matters where the stakes are very high.
  • Think in systems and are always looking for ways to automate or improve.
  • Write and speak clearly, especially when explaining complex data to non-finance peers.
  • Love learning and want to keep expanding your expertise. You might not be a fund accountant yet, but you can learn quickly and find external guidance yourself when you need it.
  • Want to build rather than maintain, and see every manual process as a temporary state.

Odin moves quickly, and you’ll be trusted to make important, high-stakes calls on your own.

You probably won’t enjoy this job if you prefer large teams, fixed processes, the ability to delegate work rather than roll up your sleeves and execute, or clear guidance & management layers.

We’re looking for someone who makes competence look effortless; someone precise, logical, and calm under intense pressure.
