We are seeking a Senior Fire Design Engineer to lead with purpose and make a meaningful impact. You will influence how buildings perform, shape fire safety strategies, and lead major fire engineering projects across the UK and internationally. You will mentor junior team members and strengthen client relationships through trusted insight and strategic thinking. You will take ownership of project management—from supporting quotations to overseeing the delivery of technical analyses, reports, drawings, specifications, and documentation. Everything you do should contribute to designing for safety, resilience, and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Lead major fire engineering projects across the UK and internationally.
- Shape fire safety strategies to enhance building performance and safeguard lives.
- Mentor junior team members and help grow the next generation of fire safety experts.
- Strengthen client relationships through trusted insight and strategic thinking.
- Own project management responsibilities—from quotations to delivery of technical analyses, reports, drawings, and documentation.
Qualifications
- A Degree or Masters in Fire Engineering, or equivalent, with proven experience; ideally Chartered or Incorporated Fire Engineer through the IFE.
- Strong technical knowledge with a track record of gaining agreement for prescriptive and performance-based design solutions from approving authorities and other key stakeholders, delivering quality work on time and on budget.
- Experience of site inspections, audits, and fire risk assessments preferred; good working knowledge of UK, ROI, NFPA, IBC/IFC Codes.
- Experience in computational modelling of evacuation, fire growth, and smoke movement would be beneficial, including CFD modelling.
- Structural fire engineering experience is highly beneficial.
